I read this book in one sitting. After reading Harley's Achilles I had to read the beginning of the series, I was desperate to know where it all began and I was dying to get to know all these incredible characters.
After deciding to come out to his fans, Gareth Wolf expected to be treated differently and that the press was going to have a field day, however, never in a million years was he expecting to attract the attention of a stalker, and not any stalker, but someone who actually wants him dead.
Gareth, loves playing, it is in his veins, as the lead bass player for the Skull Blasters his place in the band came up by a trick of destiny, but after growing up admiring the group from the sidelines now he is as prominent as the next and he is fast thrown into the limelight. As the tension and death treats escalate he seems to be needing professional help and who best to look after him but ex Navy Seal, Axel Blaze.
Axel Blaze, even his name oozes heat!. He has never done this type of job, but there is no doubt in his boss's mind that he is indeed the man for it. As soon as Axel arrives to the scene he is very quickly faced with the reality that the security not only for Gareth but for all members of the group is less than par. They must come with the realisation that they are BIG stars and danger is lurking in the shadows.
The connection between Axel and Gareth is instantaneous, however Gareth hates the fact of being watched his every move and feeling in need of a babysitter. Axel on the other hand takes his job very seriously, and he wont stop at nothing in order to make sure his client is safe. Soon lines are being crossed making them both feel an alien attraction. It is so unfamiliar it can only be due to the fact of being in close proximity right??? Well that is what they both think. But when someone's life is on that line those feelings have to be put on hold; too much is at stake, loosing is not an option. Friendships are tested, everyone is a suspect and the emotions are put to the test. The heat is ON!

I absolutely loved every minute of this book. It was fast, and fun and suspenseful, however there is plenty of romance and oh yes u guessed it SEX!
The Rock Gods is perfectly crafted. A must read for all lovers of MM genre. Downloading the #2 RIGHT NOW.

I Don't even know where to begin. This book was written to tell us about another story of The Rock Gods and after reading the other books, I was obviously eager to read more. I think what I didn't expect was to feel very deeply about this story. It has a tight grip on my heart and won't be letting go any time soon.

Alex AKA Zander needs time out and decides to have a vacation, a very long vacation, leasing a home for a year. What he didn't anticipate was falling in love with not one but two people, one man, one woman. Alex is openly bi sexual, he didn't really want to come out but like all things when in the media spotlight these things tend to always come out. He is such a deep person, his heart is filled with pure love, it would be hard for anyone not to fall in love with him. I fell completely head over heals in love with this character. I wanted him to have everything his heart desired.

Chase works on the properties surrounding his home, one of them being where Alex is staying, they have an instant connection. Chase only just previously told his girlfriend about his sexual fantasies and as much as she is supportive of their relationship, she didn't completely understand the magnitude of what was really happening.

Danni is Chase's partner, they are engaged to be married. Her world is turned upside down and she is struggling to deal with it all. I have to say, I was very conflicted about Danni. Her character although beautiful left me wondering what it was I didn't like about her. I think maybe the fact that Alex and Chase got to spend some time together when Danni was working away, I was so involved in what was happening between them, it was breath taking to read and Danni didn't see this happening, so maybe it took her longer to realise what we were reading was love, what she was feeling was jealousy.

It is hard to say how one would feel unless it happened to them. Yes Danni was very open minded and loved Chase but she was seeing change, everything she knew was never going to be the same again, so I think I should definitely cut her some slack. I do think she is a strong woman with lots of love to give and I would say she is very lucky woman. Oh, I don't know maybe I just wanted her to see what I could see, well read, you know what I mean.

This is how much this story affected me, I couldn't possibly be anymore invested in this book than I already am. I loved the journey, reading about Alex, Chase and yes even Danni. Who am I to judge how she dealt with things affecting her life. What I will tell you is this story is filled with the greatest kind of love where anything is possible.

This book was definitely one of my all time favourites. The story was written beautifully and no doubt was left about how talented the Author is. Ann Lister literally covers every aspect of her stories. Just sheer brilliance that leaves me wanting more. I am off to read book 3 in The Rock God Series, it seems to be a favourite amongst readers so I am looking forward to beginning a whole new chapter.

Wife Number Seven

A lot of my book/author friends were raving about Melissa's book Wife Number Seven, so I had to read it. Best decision ever! Sometimes I am disappointed when reading a book with a lot of hype because my expectations are too high, but not this time.

Brinley is the 22 year old 7th wife to Lehi who is about 25 years older. Lehi is a respected member of the polygamist community in which they live. He has a few secrets of his own.

"But I had my secrets. A voice inside me told me I didn't belong here, that there was another life waiting for me. And with each passing year, by that voice became louder."

The interactions between the sister wives is such an interesting dynamic. Melissa did a great job of giving us a peak into their home and daily lives.

Brinley, outwardly, is the dutiful quiet wife. Internally she has been struggling for a long time knowing there is something more meant for her life. Brinley has secrets that she keeps hidden in her purse. Out shopping for her family one day, her purse is stolen by a thief that she recognizes as a former member of her community that was exiled at a young age. She and Porter had been somewhat of friends as children. She desperately needs her purse returned and tracks Porter down to retrieve it.

"But, those whispers were coming together, becoming more cohesive, clearer and louder in my head than ever before.
From a whisper to a scream.
I was waiting for the scream.”

Yes this is a romance, and a dangerous one, but Brinley's story is so much more than just a romance. This is a story of her coming out of the shell she has been placed in to experience everything life has to offer her. The horrors of the communal polygamist LDS lifestyle tears your heart out; mostly for the woman and children, but a few of the men as well.

"I deserve a man who will love me, protect me, and cherish me. A man who would climb through my window to give me a way to communicate with him. A man who will put me first.”

Brinley's sister wife Aspen is a great surprise and wonderful support to Brinley, albeit sometimes secretly. The newest sister wife Rebecca's story is a heart breaking subplot. Melissa was just having a field day with all my feels and thought she would make me cry a little more.

Porter was exiled at a young age and thrown to the wolves with no support, no instruction and a nominal amount of money. This situation apparently being common so the elder's don't have to compete with the younger men for wives. The seemingly smallest of indiscretions get them sent packing. Porter went the way of most abandon children and became an addict.

Wife Number Seven is an amazing story of growth and love.

Allison has always seen shadows following her and felt a bit different. Seemingly out of nowhere her father takes her to a secret society meeting where she is informed that her ability is needed to help protect humans. Dear old dad made me angry a few times but I guess he was doing what he thought best in the big scheme of things.

She meets the hot vampire twins, Darcy and Thane, and has attractions to both. Ms. Kennedy's vampire myth has a bit different twist than most I have read. The male vampires are the calmer of the species and the females are dangerous; violent with blood lust. There were several good twist in the story that I didn't see coming. There is a cliffhanger at the end but book two is already available, so no waiting.

I was somewhat frustrated with Allison's flightiness but then I think back to being that age and remember that we were flighty. Hormones are raging and sometimes you just didn't think clearly.
Allison has numerous things on her plate and trying to juggle all the new information and emotions are difficult. Book 2 looks to be a daunting adventure for Allison and her journey to follow her heart.
There are several entertaining supporting characters that I enjoyed.

There were some editing issues that were distracting. Overall this is an entertaining young adult paranormal.

Cecilia moves to Minnesota from L.A. with her parents. She is sad and misses her friends and her boyfriend Glenn. Cecilia meets the kids next door, Isaac and his overbearing sister Elsie. Elsie is bossy, rude and seems to really not like Cecilia. Isaac on the other hand is friendly, if a bit weird, and seems to want to welcome Cecilia. Much to Cecilia's detriment Isaac wins out and brings her into the fold and to Old Farmer's Road.

Things turn bad when Cecilia is inhabited by a demon; an Impa. She fights against the inner voice that always wants "just one more." Cecilia knows she has to do something to stop the dark forces and the killings.

Unlikely friendships form and are betrayed. The dead bodies are mounting and Isaac's frustrations are growing bigger and darker. Cecilia does everything she can think of to stop the never ending feeding by the Impa on innocent humans. Will it be enough? The ending is epic.

Nami DeGrace was a normal college student until her life was turned upside down. Everyone turned against her when she was the one who suffered the abuse. Now all she wants is revenge. Mary Catherine does a good job of putting the reader into Nami's head to help us understand why she does what she does. We understand how she feels and the reason she believes the only thing left to do is go after her attacker.

Nick Law stumbles into her life and makes things more complicated. He wants to help her, but spends most of the time making her crazy. He doesn't seem to go about things the right way and she doesn't seem to know how to react to him. I like Law and I like how he doesn't give up on Nami. We see her go through so much and it's nice to see someone to stick by her. The only other support she has is Raskol, Nami's dog, but so much more than just her dog. I loved him. He's the perfect companion for her and a great addition to this story. The bits of happiness that he brings her is definitely needed to break up the darkness.

There are some twists that add additional depth to this story. We're provided with tragedy, secrets, suspense, humor, and more. I think the story was written well and it kept my attention the entire time.

Wow what a great book by Colleen Hoover. I must admit I heard the song of the book prior to reading the story and was desperate to know the outcome. And boy was I not expecting that.

We get to read both POV's that span on a 6 year period. In order for the reader to understand the reasons behind one of the leads behaviour we must go back in time and read about his past.
Once I started the book I just couldn't put it down. The connection between the leads is undeniably strong and both create sparks every time they are together, if only it was that simple.

Tate is a beautiful girl who's just moved in with her brother in order to finish his nursing MD. She is very grounded and so far has had a normal upbringing. When she arrives to her brother's flat never in a million years was she expecting to find a drunken guy spread out in front of her door.
Miles is gorgeous. He is also a pilot like Tate's brother. He's been carrying a dark cloud for 6 years. His smile never reaches his eyes and for whatever reason he's is incapable of loving and being loved. He never expected to find himself inside his friend's apartment after his drunken night, and he can't help but stare at the girl sleeping. Memories of the night before are fuzzy but he feels something towards Tate.

As the two of them start interacting they can't deny the connection. However in order to be together they will have to embark on an unusual agreement. No strings, just sex. Miles has two rules; Never ask about his past and do not expect a future.

A story full of raw emotion and the power of love, a total page turner! One of Colleen's best reads.
