Room Service by Poppy Dunne

This book was an absolute delight to read from start to end. The smile never left my face and I had the warm and fuzzies throughout.

We first meet the ridiculously funny Alexandrina in her hotel room where she's ordered a mountain of food from room service while simultaneously trying to save the company she works for. When she answers a call from her mother and learns that her ex will be attending her brothers wedding over the weekend, she advises that she'll be attending the wedding with a plus-one. Her new boyfriend Ben. Ben, who just moments earlier delivered her room service order and hadn't laid eyes on her before.

Seriously, I loved this book so much. It was a fantastic romcom and honestly one I can't wait to read again. Ben is such an amazing guy. He took on the pretend boyfriend role with remarkable enthusiasm and true dedication. He was sweet and sexy and boy, did he know how to deliver (food. I'm talking about food!)! Loved him. Alex was just as awesome. Fierce, fiesty, and fucking hilarious. Her inner ramblings had me in fits of laughter and I could have happily kept on reading.

In case you didn't get the message, I really loved this book! Absolutely recommend and cannot wait to read more from this author.

One Hot Scot by Donna Alam

REVIEWED BY Becky Cox

One Hot ScotOne Hot Scot by Donna Alam
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Boys and girls, if you haven't read Donna Alam, now is the time to start. One Hot Scot is hilarious, intriguing and sexy.

Fin's life has never been great. High school was awful, kids are so mean. She finally feels like things are good when it all goods to pot. Back in her hometown, last place she wants to be, broke and unemployed. Her friends help pick her up. Fin's interactions with her girlfriends are some of my favorite parts of the book. Ivy, Nat and even ole June are so entertaining. I look forward to the author's stories about these characters. A few of their interactions I screen shot and text to my friends because it sounded like us, and they found it hilarious as well. I enjoy a book so much more when I can relate to the characters.

Rory. The only thing that would have made Rory better if is he wore a kilt and came over to my house and we....had tea. Yeah, where was your mind going. He isn't a kilt wearing Scot, but he is a hot Scot and when he gets excited and that accent gets heavy, I fall in love a little more. Rory, born a Scot but raised in London, has returned to Fin's hometown to work on a project. He is funny and I loved his personality. A bit of dog at times, but hey if I was hot dude with that accent I would probably be dog too.

Overall a great read. All the characters are well developed and interesting and each have a story dying to be told. Watching Fin "get her groove back" was entertaining. The chemistry between Fin and Rory is off the charts and will set your kindle on fire!

Thanks Donna for another great read!! Looking forward to more from these characters.

A Red Hot Christmas Paris by C.J. Fallowfield

REVIEWED BY Ann Meemken

A Red Hot Christmas Paris
A Red Hot Christmas Paris by C.J. Fallowfield
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was such a fun story to read. Lulu and Luc are looking forward to there getaway with their friends Coco and Hunter. The only down fall is leaving the kids behind. Luc reassures Lulu they will be fine and that they will have a wonderful time in the romantic city of Paris. They will enjoy spending time with their friends, the sights, food and each other.

I think my favorite part of this book was reconnecting with these characters. I love the banter between Coco and Hunter. They have a love/hate relationship. It helps them both understand each other better. I loved the ending of this book.

If you want a hot christmas story to get you ready for the holidays this is the story for you.

To Catch a Flame (The Red Series, #3)To Catch a Flame by Lily Freeman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the third book of this series. Holy crap I must say the hottest too. PJ has moved on from Luke and trying not to fall more in love with Elliot and Mika. She doesn't know how they both feel about her. Elliot and Mika are determined to make PJ theirs. When PJ learns they kept a huge secret from her. She is devasted and she needs time to come to terms with it. Elliot and Mika give her the space she needs but is it to late to win her back?

I love this series and characters. I can't wait to read India and Trey story.

Meet Me Halfway by Kim Carmody

REVIEWED BY Monique Cashmere

Meet Me HalfwayMeet Me Halfway by Kim Carmody
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

You have heard the saying, "Don't believe everything you read in the papers", right?
Well this is most certainly the case for Nate Sullivan. He is the rising football star who was the first draft pick for the Warriors. He has everything going for him - until that fight is brought up again and it's all rehashed. It is something Nate has tried hard to forget and move on from.

Olivia has finally scored her big break with her boss. She is a sports reporter that has been given the go ahead on doing a documentary on the Warriors draft selection - Nate. But at what price is this documentary going to cost Liv?

This second book in this series is just as praiseworthy as the first, maybe more so. Nate is the type of guy you want on your team, and on your side. He will defend in what he believes is the right thing. He may have just Graduated from college, but he is mature beyond his years. And this is one of the reasons that Liv was so attracted to him. It's not about the fit and delectable body - but it is not a deterrent either. There are just so many qualities to this man that will make any girl swoon. But Liv is not your average girl for that matter. She is in a mans world for her job, but she loves it. She gives as good as she gets. Liv just needs to loosen up a bit and maybe that is something Nate can teacher her. But their relationship needs to be kept behind closed doors. Nothing good can come of it if Liv's boss finds out she is dating the subject of the documentary. But how long can they keep the secret? How can Liv deliver to her best ability without throwing Nate under the bus? And when did it go from "just having some fun" to falling for each other?

If you are looking for a sports romance with some angst and plenty action, you can look no further. No problem if you haven't read the first book, but I recommend both of these beauties and I am looking forward to the next one immensely.

A Perfect Plan by Alyssa Drake

REVIEWED BY Jess

A Perfect Plan (Wiltshire Chronicles, #1)A Perfect Plan by Alyssa Drake
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A Perfect Plan-5 amazing stars!!

Alyssa Drake, you have kept my interest peaked and I cannot wait for the Wiltshire Chronicles #2. I NEED to know what happens next. Talk about a cliffhanger!!!

Initially, I wasn't happy with the third person perspective. I am usually not a fan, but Drake has done a wonderful job capturing each character in detail-a task not done easily. I absolutely loved the third person telling of this story and I don't think it would have worked as well had it been told from Samantha's point of view.

I will admit, I didn't know this wasn't going to be a standalone, but it didn't make a difference in the end. I loved the WHOLE book. Samantha's character was wonderful. Rich, strong, witty, and had a tongue on her not wholly appreciated for the time. Benjamin, dear LORD, I loved him. Sly, and rough around the edges, but still sweet and loving. The secondary characters were as rich as the both Lord Westwood and Miss Hastings. I honestly pictured Damelza and Ross Poldark while reading this, and they just fit so wonderfully together. Add in the extra tension of murder, and betrayal, I was thoroughly entranced the entire book.

The entire time I pictured a game of CLUE-this person did it, in the Library, with the Candle Stick! I loved the mystery (something I don't often read, but will now start to enjoy a wee bit more), it had me seized with emotion and questions the entire read.

I cannot wait for next installment of this series, I wish I had it in my hands RIGHT now. This is my first Drake, but I can guarantee you it wont be my last. I adore a good historical romance, and when you throw in a enigmatic mystery, I cannot deny myself.

OOOOOOH MY GOOOOD!!!

It is NO secret that I am a big fan of all books by Helena Newbury, but can you blame me? I mean I opened this book, started reading and BOOM!

description

This book was like being sucked into an episode of The Sopranos mixed with a little bit of West Side Story, with snippets of The Godfather whilst thinking of Romeo and Juliet. So yes get your mind around that, throw a hot, sexy, alpha mobster, a beautiful Russian ballerina and what do you get, PERFECTION.
Irina is a beautiful girl who wanting to escape the legacy of her family runs to NYC in the hopes to get a clean slate and erase all that resembles the tribulations of what belonging to the mafia entails; raised by her uncle she despises everything that he stands for and has sworn to never be sucked into that lifestyle, that is until Angelo stumbles into her life.
Angelo has lived his life the only way he knows and that is by the law of the NY mafia. He rules and dominates but also fights to protect those who are under his control, he knows the Russians want in on his businesses and streets and he will make sure that never happens, no way he will allow anyone to destroy all that he has worked so hard to build. However the night he sees Irina his well controlled life shifts of its axis and he will stop at nothing to get closer to her. Discovering they share more than just an attraction to each other their lives are in peril when they discover how impossible their being together is.
Secret rendezvous, gagsters, midnight stakeouts, persecutions and plenty of steamy moments make this book one gripping and completely addictive read and one of my big time favourites from Helena's kissing stories.
