Up for Heir by Ruth Cardello

Up for Heir (Westerly Billionaire #2)Up for Heir by Ruth Cardello
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

3.5 Stars

Westerly Billionaire #2 is a sweet fast second chance romance.

Up for Heir is the second installment in the Westerly Billionaire series and focuses on Spencer, a self made tech success. He partnered with his long time friend Jordan and they developed amazing technology.

Spencer goes through quite an emotional growth throughout the story and I grew to like him more every chapter.

Hailey is a sweet girl trying to survive the best she can. I liked her as a heroine. My problem was her inner dialogue was excessive and distracting for me.

I kind of love Delinda (Grandmother Westerly) and her pushy, nosy self. I imagine she will be meddling in her family's life in future books as well. She was quite entertaining.

They met at the psychiatrist office. Jesse and Kylie are in need of a positive life change. They must face their demons of the past in order to do that.

At first this story was a bit confusing for me and than all of sudden it made total sense. This story is unique in the fact that it shares the past and the present time. I enjoyed the bond that formed between Jesse and Kylie. The ending was a bit surprising. I wished it would have ended different but it seemed fitting for this story.

Van by Sawyer Bennett

REVIEWED BY
Becky Cox

Van (Cold Fury Hockey, #9)Van by Sawyer Bennett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is not my first Sawyer Bennett book but is my first in the Cold Fury Hockey series. I would recommend this book to anyone over 18 that likes a hot sports romance. Bennett deliveries strong characters and well developed plots. Van is told in dual POV's which I enjoy. It can definitely be read as a standalone.

Van is an enforcer on the hockey team and a very private person. He stays out of the media as much as possible and keeps to himself.

Simone is forward and an "in your face" kind of girl. I grew to like her as the story developed. In the beginning I felt she was too aggressive in her pursuit of Van, but realized it was just her personality and she was perfect for him.

Van took a lot more convincing that I did. He resisted at every turn. His avoidance and her pursuit was quite funny to read. Once he gave in, they burned up the pages together and made the perfect couple.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Breathe: The Program Book 2Breathe: The Program Book 2 by N.M. Catalano
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love this series. I was very excited for the release of this book.

This story is full of action, suspense, passion, friendship, honor, love, and lust. Raven is newest addition to this series. She has this bad girl persona. I have no doubt she is a force to be reckoned with. It is so fun watching her let her guard down from time to time. Snake has his work cut out for him, if he thinks he can tame her.

This story is intense and I loved every minute of it. I am excited to read more about these characters and see what other surprises await us.

The Bachelor Contract by Rachel Van Dyken

Saddens me that I didn't love this one and I can tell you the reason why: Brandt was such an asshole and not in an 'oh, he's so damn grouchy and alpha and I love him' way. No. From the previous books, we knew he had surliness down to a fine art but in TBC, he was really mean and intentionally hurtful to Nikki and I can't like such a 'hero'. I understood the reasons behind his demeanor and what made him so broken, but I think a lot of it was uncalled for. Then he turned a new leaf which would have been great except it was so rushed that it didn't feel organic. It was like RVD thought that at X point in the book, Brandt will turn into a decent human being and that's what she wrote but it didn't feel genuine at all. I liked Nikki's character but she annoyed me at times with her incessant crying and letting Brandt treat her poorly then going back for more. Honestly, the star of this book is (as always) Grandma Nadine - she's the bees (arthritic) knees.

This book was a miss for me and I can't honestly bring myself to recommend it.

Bear My Soul by T.S. Joyce

REVIEWED BY
Joanne Swinney

Bear My Soul (Fire Bears #1)Bear My Soul by T.S. Joyce
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book in the Fire Bear Series. Bear shifters are totally my thing. I love a strong masculine alpha shifter. Cody Keller fits that description perfectly and then some.

After Rory Dobson had a one night stand many moons ago she ended up with more than herself to take care of. All alone in the world Rory has some big decisions to make. This woman is a beautiful person and most certainly deserves some good karma in her life.

Cody Keller a bear shifter that has been let down in the past and is finding it difficult to move forward with his future or so his family think. Cody works at the firehouse in his home town. The images I have conjured up will need the whole fire brigade to put out the flames.

The Keller’s are a wonderful family. I can’t wait to read more about them all. With Cody having brothers there is definitely a good chance I’ll be reading each of their stories and I couldn’t be happier.

I’m off to download book two in this series. If you love paranormal reads, especially shifter romance then this book is a must read for you.

For the Love of an Outlaw by T.S. Joyce

REVIEWED By
Joanne Swinney

For the Love of an Outlaw (Outlaw Shifters, #1)For the Love of an Outlaw by T.S. Joyce
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Only I could look for a new shifter series to read and read book one of one. Roll on December for book two. However this Author has many shifter series for me to sink my teeth into. I am looking forward to reading every single of them. Oh! Yeah she’s good. Her storytelling skills had me reading this book in one sitting.

Ava left home a long time ago. All she ever thought about was leaving her small home town to start a new life for herself. As soon as that became possible she did exactly that and never looked back. Leaving her brother behind and her brother’s horrible friend, Trigger. He was always mean to her and she never knew why.

When Colton, Ava’s brother rings basically demanding she come back home and help Trigger, she point blank refused, but she owned her brother. So what was two weeks out of her life?

Things were definitely different in her home town. She still felt like the outsider she had always been, but riddles and weird behaviour took it to a whole new level. I don’t think Ava ever could have prepared her for what was happening in her brother’s life or hers for that matter.

Trigger loved Ava it was a simple as that. Oh, sure he never said that out loud, but I knew while reading. Ava was the only woman for him. True saying ‘love hurts’.
I think Trigger underestimated Ava, she’s a child anymore. He’s about to find out how much of a woman she is.

Ava learns many secrets from her childhood. She thought she knew her brother. Wishing she had done things differently, but hindsight is just that. She can’t change the past, but she can change the direction of her future.

Shifter romance is my favourite and this one has just made the top of my list.
