The Trouble with Mistletoe by Jill Shalvis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I absolutely love Christmas books and have one written by Jill Shalvis is making this holiday season bright!
Willa Davis is the owner of a pet shop, South Bark Mutt Shop. Keane Winters needs her help with cat daycare for his Aunt's cat that she has entrusted him with. Willa recognized Keane from high school. His actions crushed her and he doesn't even remember her.
Both Willa and Keane didn't have the ideal childhoods. Neither one of them is allowing their past shape to their present.
Because of her past Willa can see when others are struggling and really puts herself out there to help others. She really is an amazing lady. On the other hand, Keane keeps himself closed off. I personally think it's because he doesn't know what love is but he also takes care of others so you can tell he's not as 'closed off' as he portrays.
I first thought that Keane's Aunt entrusted the care of Petunia to him in a way to connect with him.
The more Keane and Willa around each other the more they both open up. They both struggle with accepting that someone is going to want to be with them for the distance. I love the way Jill writes that you can actually feel the turmoil these two are dealing with.
Jill also has a great way of bringing her sense of humor into this book.
I absolutely loved this book and it's also available in Audible!
