Booty Camp Dating Service by Debra Anastasia

We meet the lovely, special-needs teacher, Hazel in the prologue of this book, where she tells her boyfriend she loves him following a toe-curling...ahem...session. He exits stage left after that proclamation and the good times begin but not before Hazel swears to herself that she'll never tell another man she loves him. She's then convinced by her best friend Claire to join her in handing over $1000 to Booty Camp Dating Services to find her a perfect match. Aaaaaand enter Wolf. Wolf is the behind-the-scenes owner of BCDS and is the first male to have inherited the matchmaking gene from his mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and likely many before her. He is however, the first to make money from the special gift.

This book was soooooooo much fun to read! As sorry as I felt for Hazel, Anastasia still managed to have me holding back a snort (or three) in that prologue and it continued throughout the book. The characters are fun and funny and flawed and in all honestly, as much as I loved them, I could've given them a bloody good shaking to sort them out. I really loved the secondary characters too; I love that both Wolf and Hazel had genuinely good friends who cared. There was no need for the bitchy friends who add drama because Wolf and Hazel managed to create quite a bit of drama between themselves! I'm not normally a huge fan of back-and-forthing but in this case it really worked for me and it was a pleasure to read.

I really enjoyed this and highly recommend if you like a good, sexy, laugh-out-loud RomCom filled with the most ridiculously hilarious one-liners around.

Quake by Jacob Chance

REVIEWED BY Ann Meemken

Quake (Quake, #1)Quake by Jacob Chance
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Kyle is PI that is hired by a wife who wants her husband investigated. When he is investigating him he falls for the man's sister Janny which he has not met yet. They literally bump into each other and sparks fly. They both have an instant attraction to each other and want to get to know each other better.

Kyle is caring, loyal and dominant. Janny is driven, loving and has some trust issues.
I loved the connection Janny and Kyle share. The scenes were described so well. I enjoyed the story and character's. I can't wait til the next book to find out what happens next.

A wonderful debut novel by Jacob Chance.

Khan by Kathi S. Barton

REVIEWED BY Joanne Swinney

Khan (Bowen Boys, #2)Khan by Kathi S. Barton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Got to love this guy. As much as he's a pain and bossy and wants everything done his way, he's just so... you know. Grrr!! He doesn't want a mate, if you read book one you will know he hates humans. Aww bless, he's in for quite a shock.
Although he can be quite difficult at times, he is very protective of his family and anyone who is close to them. He will protect them with his life, him and his Cat, he's a shifter, a very impressive shifter.

The Bowen boys are all very close and help each other out, if one has a problem the rest of the family is there to help. Mostly no questions are asked because they are rarely needed unless it's to do with one of them finding a mate. When Marc's employee is hurt, he wants to take care of her. Nope, it's not his mate, but she sure is Khan's.

Khan is about to have his whole life turned upside down. Poor guy has been stuck in his ways for so long it's hard to change, but he definitely needs some adjusting if he's ever going to have a chance at keeping his mate. Monica may have been stalked and beaten by her ex but she's no push over.
Khan is desperate to keep Monica safe, with the ex, Tony is doing all he can to find her, anything can happen. It's an intense time for all of them especially Khan.

This is another brilliant shifter romance. I love the excitement that comes with reading these stories. The men being so alpha and protective. The woman although damsels in distress are tough and loving, just what these brothers need. The parents are comical, George is a hoot and very much involved in all their children lives.

If you love Shifter romance this is a must read. I am working my way through every shifter book this Author has, LOL!! True fact. I think I will be kept busy for quite some time.

Blue-Eye Devil by Lisa Kleypas

REVIEWED BY Micky Barnard

Blue-Eyed Devil (Travises, #2)Blue-Eyed Devil by Lisa Kleypas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Kleypas has clearly demonstrated her prowess in contemporary writing as well as historical. This second book of the series followed the addictiveness of the second half of book one; I delved in and couldn't stop.

There's a strong connection to some of the characters from book one and it completely worked for me. There was some difficult material in this book that was discomforting to read but real and tangible. Kleypas respectfully explored this difficult subject matter and the character restoration was welcome, enjoyable reading.

This book is oozing with sexual chemistry between the lead characters and I pretty much melted at the understanding the lead male had for Haven (I'm not saying his name for those who haven't read book one, this could be a spoiler). Nevertheless, when they were together, it was explosive. The lead male is all alpha, but he's been around the block and he's not all about asserting this tendency; I loved that.

"He had a touch of the bruiser."

This series is proving to be fantastic and I am desperate to get my hands on book three and four.

Wrong Question, Right Answer by Elle Casey

REVIEWED BY Micky Barnard

Wrong Question, Right Answer (The Bourbon Street Boys, # 3)Wrong Question, Right Answer by Elle Casey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This has been my favourite so far of the series. I liked the fact that this book focuses on one of the original females of the firm, rather than a male of the team. I enjoy character transformations, particularly believable ones. Toni has been as prickly as a cactus in previous books, you know there's a story behind it, but she's not very likeable despite there being a reason. The storyline was completely unexpected in terms of its direction but I loved where it went. It was funny, a little emotional and gave me the feels. Lucky was a real guy, somewhat flawed but a man with backbone and commitment. I really enjoyed these two together and their amusing banter.

The Bourbon Street guys (male and female) are a bunch of fun characters and I've enjoyed getting to know each of them. May remained a fun addition to this story, a ditzy mess but a caring woman. Elle Casey has a way of writing that I find so easy and satisfying to then read. She's someone I keep on my radar.

A copy of this book was provided by the publisher in return for an honest review.

Black Ink: Part ll by N.M. Catalano

REVIEWED BY Becky Cox

Black Ink: Part IIBlack Ink: Part II by N.M. Catalano
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

In Black Ink Part II, the plot thickens. The web of corruption is expanded and I got a glimpse of things to come in Alexander's battle to save his empire and Gemma. It appears Gemma's soon-to-be ex has dug her a deep hole.

Gemma maintains her strength which is important to me, especially in an alpha male relationship. She may submit in the bedroom, but that is pretty much the only place.

Alexander is much more than meets the eye and I like him more all the time. He is always hot, but as the layers peel away, I really like him.

NM has done a great job in developing these characters from the first book. There is a bit of a cliffy and I am looking forward to book 3 to see what happens and who is behind all of this! I have my suspicions but have no doubt NM will surprise me.

Hot sex, mystery and espionage. Great read!

In The Shadow of Satellites by Amanda Dick

REVIEWED BY Becky Cox

In the Shadow of SatellitesIn the Shadow of Satellites by Amanda Dick
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

In the Shadow of Satellites caught me a bit by surprise. This is my first Amanda Dick read and let me tell you this is a talented lady! This story is very well written and pulls you into the grief Sian lives. My heart felt heavy with her burden.

Sian's residual physical effects from the tragedy rang true for me. I experienced her frustration, confusion and the grief. Lord the crippling grief.

Luke, with burdens of his own, is such a great guy. Yes, he is handsome, but I don't really think that matters. His patience and counsel were beautiful to read. Truly loved me some Luke.

I don't usually comment on a pet in a story, but Geezer is a strong supporting character in this book and I felt he deserved a mention. Geezer gave Sian support as only a beloved dog can do.

I'm less broken, less damaged. I'm mending."

Amanda tore me down, but slowly put me back together. In the Shadow of Satellites I would recommend to anyone looking for a heartbreaking beautiful story of love and rebirth.

It's In His Touch by Shelly Alexander

REVIEWED BY Joanne Swinney

It's In His Touch (Red River Valley, #2)It's In His Touch by Shelly Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

How does a writer mix such a heartfelt story with laughter? It just amazes me that although this book delved into a health issue that has effected many woman, the story was filled with laugh out loud moments along the way. It was an incredible read of love, betrayal, anger, lust, vengeance, friendship, illness, it was jam packed with so many feelings, I couldn't not connect to such a beautiful story.

Angelique is on a mission to win, she's never lost a court case yet and isn't about to start. This woman is strong of mind and body but unfortunately not of the heart. When you meet that one person that gives you butterflies, the one that you can't stop thinking about, the one that scares the life out of you because that one person is very much capable of breaking your heart. It's frightening but exciting and the Author of this book knew exactly how to bring out my emotions and at the right times.

Blake aka Dr. Tall, Dark, and Hot-some could steal your panties from you without even touching you. For those that have read this story, you will know exactly what I am talking about. If you haven't read, then seriously don't wait any longer. You will not be disappointed and most definitely you will be looking for more books to download from this series.

Blake discovers he has a new neighbour, the beautiful Angelique. There first meeting was highly embarrassing for Angelique and Blake was left feeling absolutely furious. It's more than a strange start to a friendship but that's exactly what these two become. Whether they like it or not, Angelique and Blake are drawn to each other like magnets. Blake is keeping so many secrets from people he has known for a very long time. Angelique is struggling to overcome a nightmare she has lived through and the fear still eats away at her.

I fell in love with these characters along with Angelique's best friend, Kimberly. She is the best friend anyone could wish for. The bucket list she has for her and Angelique is insane but so funny. Life is definitely hilarious when Kimberly is around and OMG!! the grandmother, Nona is hysterical. The beauty of getting really old, you get away with a lot more and Nona takes full advantage of that.

I one hundred percent recommend this book to all romance lovers. It will surely capture your heart and leave you wanting more.

Hard Edit by Andrea Smith & Eva LeNoir

Hard Edit (Black Balled, #2)Hard Edit by Andrea Smith
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Jo&isalovebooks Reviews

July 18th, 2016
Title: Hard edit: Sequel to "Black Balled"
Genre: Gay Romance
Author: Andrea Smith & Eva LeNior
Jo's Grade: 5 Stars

The Gospel According to Jo:

If you haven't read Black Balled yet, I encourage you to take the journey. This next instalment and apparently the last, BOO!! Is even better, even hotter, even funnier, even quirkier. Oh! I am a huge fan of Troy and Larson, not in the stalker sense because we all know how Troy feels about that. What? You don't know what I'm talking about. Hmmm, only one thing for it, no I am not taking trip down memory lane and going over what happen in book one, you need to read. hehe!! I know you hate me, well that's okay because Larson hated Troy and look where that got them, in lust, in love, in it forever.
I have seriously laughed my head off while reading this story. Not just laughed out loud, I'm talking giggling my head off till I had tears rolling down my face. Not only am I totally on Troy and Larson's wave length, and completely get their sense of humour, I understand the relationship they have fits them. It's weirdly lovable to read. I just couldn't help but understand the dynamics of their relationship. Obviously the credit for that can only go to the writers, these ladies should definitely write more M/M together. Hint Hint!!

The elderly neighbour, Ida is hilarious, there was a scene where she was having a heart to heart with Troy and to say he was uncomfortable with the way the conversation was going was an understatement. She certainly has a way with words that's for sure. Troy on the other hand is tongue tied, haha!!

I am actually laughing while writing this review as another scene pops into my head. I swear I wish I could share with you all, but the profanities are not something I can repeat, well not in a review. I'm no prude you know. HA! Of course you know, I've just read Hard Edit and want more. Greedy much?

You know how they say opposites attract? After reading this book, I would have to agree. They also say, you get like the ones you live with. Let's hope Troy learns to use a coaster at all times since "he's sleeping with the Coaster King of Manhattan", Quoting Troy. HAHA!!

Larson and Troy go to a book signing. Sound familiar? The lead up to the signing was another reason, I couldn't stop laughing. Larson organising his swag. OMG!! If you are an Author, you know all about ordering your swag with your own brand on. And for you readers who love the swag, shame we can't get Larson's. I'd love a coaster. HAHAHA!!

Remember, Lloyd? He's got his own story to share in Guns Blazing which is available to download, but we get a little glimpse of Lloyd on his knees, well at least Larson does. Awkward!!!
This book is just jammed pack with fun, laughter, lust, love. It's an exciting read and I would definitely recommend to all lovers of Gay Romance.

Andrea Smith & Eva LeNoir, YOU NAILED IT!! I didn't think it could top Black Balled, but was I wrong. If Gay Romance readers don't love this book, I will suck my...... And that is my cue to leave this review.

The Summer Garden by Paulina Simons

REVIEWED BY Becky Cox

The Summer Garden (The Bronze Horseman, #3)The Summer Garden by Paullina Simons
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

You can't help but love Tatiana and Alexander. Paullina Simons has created two beautiful characters. They are not perfect, but they are real. Tatiana's strength is beyond...I don't know what, but she is an amazing character.

Alexander made me angry in Summer Garden. I get it, I do, but angry nonetheless. I wanted to shake him and scream at him.

This is a perfect conclusion (I know I just said I was mad, but I don't stay that way) to a life changing story. I have recommended this series more times than I can count. Paullina draws you into Tatiana and Alexander's lives and you don't want to leave.

I felt their pain, stress, hurt and betrayal. I seriously hated it had to end. I put off reading it for a while because I didn't want to be done with their epic love story. My girl Melinda gifted it to me and I couldn't resist any longer. I will read this series again and again.

The Bronze Horseman trilogy is a life changing epic story.

Low by Mary Elizabeth

REVIEWED BY Becky Cox

Low (Low, #1)Low by Mary Elizabeth
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Whelp, never saw that coming! Honestly I picked this book because of the cover. Shallow you say, well yeah maybe, or just a sucker for a hot bad boy. My point being, I went in blind and was blown away by the ending of this book. As the synopsis suggests (which I only just read), definite Bonnie and Clyde vibe.

Lowen has made some mistakes in his life and wants to be a better man for his Poesy who has stood by his side through the rough times. His father wasn't a good person and he wants to do more for Poesy. She is the suburb daughter expected to grow up, go to college and marry the good boy, but her heart is already taken by Low, the ultimate bad boy.

The ups and downs and lordy the feels. So many feels. I couldn't read fast enough dying to know what happened. I wiped a tear or two from my cheeks and giggled, swooned; oh yeah and cursed a few times.

Low is dark and sexy. If you want a fluff read, walk away. If you want something gritty and hot, here is your winner! It is not mainstream but this is a well written heartwrencher with a WTF ending!

Loved this one!

Red Night by R.K. Close

REVIEWED BY Becky Cox

Red Night (Vampire Files Trilogy Book 1)Red Night by R.K. Close
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Red Night is written from Samantha's POV, which is a different perspective than your usually vampire story. Like RK Close says herself, I am an Anne Rice stalker and love a good vampire story and this took me by surprise being from the human's POV. It gave a different feel to the story which I enjoyed.

I love a strong female character and Samantha definitely delivered. She is a private investigator who stumbles upon the paranormal world. Her story is action packed and has loads of eye candy of different species. Who doesn't love some hot paranormals. ;-)

The Vampire Files look to be a great trilogy and I am looking forward to reading more of Samantha's adventures and who her love interest may end up being. Hmmmm so hard to pick between the hotness.

Priest by Sierra Simone

REVIEWED BY Becky Cox

Priest (Priest, #1)Priest by Sierra Simone
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Priest is not for everyone. Definitely for a mature audience as it is steamy. I enjoy the naughty stories, but am not Catholic so...I am not offended by a fallen priest where others might be.

Tyler, Father Bell, is a hot priest who joined the clergy after a tragedy befell his sister. Maybe he was meant to be a priest, maybe he used it as an escape.

Poppy is melancholy. She carries guilt like a fashion hand bag.

“Find whatever love is left in your life and hold on to it tightly. And one day, things will have gotten less gray, less dull.”
Theirs is a burning attraction love story. The problem with that is someone always gets burnt.

“Whatever happens after this, I just want you to know that this was worth it. You were worth it. You were worth everything.”

Sierra Simone has written a story that will offend some; burn up some kindles, but no matter it is a story that is compelling.

Tickle His Fancy by Samantha A. Cole

REVIEWED BY Tina Shobe

Tickle His Fancy (Trident Security #6)Tickle His Fancy by Samantha A. Cole
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

AMAZING! I think that says it all on how I feel about this book.

Brody, always a flirt, becomes acquainted with Fancy (love her knickname!) when he drops into her bakery to indulge his sweet tooth. There is just something about Fancy that attracts him on a deeper level than he has ever experienced before and he wants to explore it.

Fancy due to tragedy in her life is very reserved but Brody breaks down her defenses.

My emotions were all over the place while reading this book. I was laughing out loud (love books that have me doing that!), sad when reading about Fancy's tragedy, gripping my ereader hard when reading through the intrigue and suspenseful parts. I was so surprised on who was causing Fancy distress in her life.

This book is part of the Trident Security Series but I think it could be a stand alone I honestly think you'll get a greater appreciation for series if you read them in order. It is truly an amazing series! I love how the author revisits with all the Trident Security Team. We get to keep up to date with all of them. In this book we're getting to know the Omega Team a little more in depth.

Samantha has a way of writing that draws you in so that you won't be putting the book down. The way this story goes along you just know that there is going to much more to this series. With each book the series just get much better. I don't even know how that is possible, it just does.

Obligated by Renee C.Leigh

REVIEWED BY Tina Shobe

Obligated (Sheffey's Bar Book 2)Obligated by Renee C. Leigh
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Chloe is running her family's bar. After her Mom passes away her dad turns to the bottle and Chloe basically raised herself. She has put everyone ahead of herself.

Her cousin, Natalia, shows up at her bar with a surprise visit for Christmas. I seriously could virtually see Chloe's eyes rolling as her cousin comes bouncing across the bar.

The author has a great way of writing that makes you feel like you are right there in the story watching the action going on around you.

Natalia got a ride from a friend, Zane. The attraction between Zane and Chloe is instant. Both try to fight it as Zane knows that Chloe is the type that will want a relationship and he's leaving in a couple weeks. Chloe had a bad experience in her past that makes her real leary of guys.

Natalia gets everyone is the Christmas spirit with decorating, shopping, getting a Christmas Tree. You can't help but smile when she's in the story. She comes across as a very happy person. Natalia and Chloe's friend, Elijah hit it off.

Even though Chloe knows her friends have their own family's and her dad is on a trip with his girlfriend she secretly hopes that everyone will spend some part of Christmas with her. She goes shopping and buys presents for everyone. Something she hasn't done in years. She even plan a meal. Zane suddenly has to leave due to a work crisis and Chloe is alone for Christmas.

I felt really bad for Chloe. She just needs someone in her life that puts her first. Takes care of her like she deserves to be taken care of.

She is abducted by a stalker. What a great twist! Never saw that coming.

This is the first book I have read by Author Renee Leigh and she's got herself a new fan. This book is really well written. I read it in one sitting. I couldn't put it down.

Furious Rush by S.C. Stephens

REVIEWED BY Micky Barnard

Furious RushFurious Rush by S.C. Stephens
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4.5 stars

Furious Rush pulled me in from the first few pages. I haven't ever read a bike racing trope and I have to say I really enjoyed the setting, racing and world the characters were immersed in. This is a book about family dynamics, scorching chemistry, hate and adrenaline.

Kenzie is a woman in a man's world, I loved her drive, dedication to the family but she was also fiercely independent and knew her own mind. I love a strong female character. Hayden was destined to be her enemy and he was a total bad boy. He was arrogant, sometimes obnoxious and I loved to hate him. These two had scorching chemistry. This book had a collection of wider characters that made up the whole and each character was a crucial but good part of the jigsaw. I thought the characters were developed, they made me feel a range of emotion and I was invested in their lives. The storyline was strong and even when it went a direction I didn't want it to, I still felt engrossed.

SC Stephens has done her job well with this book and the style and quality of writing was reminiscent of the first three thoughtless books. Stephens has me invested in what I hope will be a series. I want more of Kenzie, Hayden and the racing world.

A copy of this book was provided by the publisher in return for an honest review.

Demon, Interrupted (The Lakeland Witches Book 4)Demon, Interrupted by K. D. Grace
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

KD Grace is a new author for me. This book would have been better had I read the first three, but that is no one's fault but my own. It is well written and enjoyable, hence the 4 stars even though I was a bit confused at times because I hadn't read the previous books, it wasn't hard to follow or figure out the other characters.

Demon Interrupted is a fast paced story. Our heroine Elaine appears fragile at times but has a strong backbone! Demon Ferris, has his demons (pun intended). The Lakeland Witches are supportive of him and want to help him work out his issues.

I enjoyed the bit of historic romance mixed in and there are some chapters that will melt your kindle with the hotness.

Overall an enjoyable paranormal romance, dare I say erotica.

Author Anonymous by E.K. Blair

REVIEWED BY Becky Cox

Author AnonymousAuthor Anonymous by E.K. Blair
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

For me, Author Anonymous is a journey that I am glad I took. EK's writing is impeccable as always. Do I like the heroine? Could we be friends? I don't know but I do know I don't have to like the heroine to appreciate the story. I sympathize with her struggle. Her decisions were not necessarily ones I would have made, or maybe I would have, maybe I have, but they are her decisions and they are what made the story. A tale...I guess it is, but all while reading I kept in mind this is a true story. Someone lived this struggle, this pain, this heartbreak and that made it so much more for me.

The ending blew me away, and I won't lie, made me cry. I thought of the butterfly effect. Had she just taken a different path things could have been different. Had she not...well never mind don't want to have any spoilers.

Author Anonymous is not likely to be appreciated by a conservative reader. It will probably scare a few readers as their thoughts may run to close to the story line and no one wants to look inside themselves and see something they think they shouldn't. I like a darker story, one that makes me think about ugly things. In makes me introspective. But I have a feeling that is the reason Anonymous wanted the story written and why she chose EK to tell it.

REVIEWED BY Becky Cox

Built (Saints of Denver, #1)Built by Jay Crownover
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Saints of Denver is a spinoff series from The Marked Men series which I loved!

Strong and silent, sign me up! Throw in construction worker on top of that and Holy Hannah Hotness. Zeb was a minor character in the Marked Men but takes center stage in Built. I was so excited Jay wrote this story as I was intrigued by Zeb and felt he had a story to tell.

Sayer, also a character from Marked Men, was so much more than I had expected and I love her in Built.

I love when a character surprises me and I was surprised at the depth of both of these characters. I also love a good twist and Jay delivered on that as well.

“I choose you, Sayer. Lover, lawyer, and all the shit you are in between that, I choose it. I choose us. when you’re ready to accept that, you come find me.”

Truly enjoy Jay's work and look forward to catching up on her latest work.
