4.5*
When you start a book and can’t stop the smile from forming within the first few pages, you know you’re onto a good thing. That was the case with me and Superfan and the smile did not abate throughout.
Superfan is Silas’s book and if you’ve read previous books in this series, you’ll know he has a bit of an obsession with a certain singer named Delilah Sparks. Well in Superfan we find out how and why that obsession came about and it. is. swoonworthy!
Delilah and Silas many several years ago when she was an unknown in town for a music festival and Silas was a bartender in said town who had missed out on his golden opportunity. They build a friendship of sorts but before anything more can become of it, Silas disappears. There is a bit of back and forth, then and now, in this book but it was far from confusing - in fact, the flashbacks only served to enhance their romance.
This was a really lovely second-chance romance with some killer banter and a wee bit of suspense/drama thrown in for good measure. I enjoyed the organic way the relationship between Silas and Delilah grew and frankly, I could have kept on reading their story. I particularly loved the appearances from the Bruiser family and sincerely hope there’ll be more of them soon!
*I voluntarily read an early copy of this book.
