Wilde for You by Marianne Rice
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This is book 3 in the Wilde Sister Series. I feel it could be a stand alone as Marianne does a fantastic job pulling you into the story so you feel you know all the sisters and their spouses.
I really love the Marianne portrayed Sage's character. She's one tough lady. I'd even call her snarky. I think a lot of personality is in direct relation to how she grew up. She was the 'parent' to her sisters. She doesn't plan on falling in love, having the white picket fence or children. I get that. It's just not her.
She takes it upon herself to get checked out to see if she can be a surrogate mother for her sister Thyme, who can't have children. I think she is an amazing woman. It was such a heartwarming and emotional moment in the book when she presented her idea of being surrogate to her sisters.
She's actually at the doctor's office when they have to evacuate the building due to a fire scare and here comes sexy firefighter Luke. I think her red boots is an indication that there's some 'fire' in our Sage. Luke is instantly attracted to her fiery attitude. Luke is great looking, sexy, thoughtful, has a great sense of humor, loves his adopted mom...you know the perfect guy. He can 'see' Sage and as the book goes along you can tell that her sisters and husbands are also getting to 'see' Sage.
He doesn't give up on Sage even though she's not very nice to him at times. I got a little irritated with how she treated him sometimes. I again think her past has a lot to do with that. He confuses her and scares her at the same time. I do think that she should of opened up to Luke about her past. That would be the only thing in the book I would suggest changing. Even with that said I think this is an outstanding book, very well written and I absolutely loved it. In fact, I see myself re-reading this book again.
