Jamaican American Thug Drama by Author J.S. Lewis
REVIEWED BY Ashley Heather
Jamaican American Thug Drama by J.S. Lewis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Wow ......well Drama by title and Drama by content!
According to the synopsis this book promises to posses you and remain forever etched in your soul. When you finish reading this you will realise the truth behind that statement.
This story moved me in an inexplicable way and as a personal recommendation from me, before you get captivated by this novel do what I did and read the "About the Author" segment. It will move you in such a way that your experience of the story will be magnified to an intense level. This will not only leave you feeling a profound disbelief that such prejudice still exists but also with a new found admiration for the author laying bare this story.
Jamaican American Thug Drama tells the story of love ......pure and simple.
Love is love, in any shape and form.
Love is not what the mind thinks, it is what the heart feels. Love can't be manipulated into being something it's not and this is the same for people. Regardless of what gender your drawn to love is love.
This story involves Jevaughn falling for his straight next door neighbour Dre but being gay is highly frowned upon in the community he lives so he keeps his feelings hidden. That is until Dre admits he feels the attraction too. How can they survive being together in a world that could get them killed for loving each other? But the real question should be ..... can they survive without each other?
The story is hard hitting and heart wrenching. It made me think of an ultra modern day Romeo and Juliet.
I would 100% recommend picking this up.
For me the reason it drops to four stars was the pacing of the story, it was just that little too fast and I wanted it a little slower so I could process the actual unthinkable drama that does transpire in the two men's lives and how they felt. That being said I thought the essence of the story was gripping and very original in the m/m genre.
Bravo Author J.S Lewis
