Cream of the Crop by Alice Clayton

This is the story of two characters we briefly met in Nuts: dairy farmer, Oscar and advertising executive, Natalie. It's almost your typical city gal meets country boy romance and I say almost because this is Clayton's signature style and there's nothing typical about it.

Let's start with Natalie who I LOVED! She's full-figured, sexy, and confident. She makes no apologies for anything; her looks, attitude, sex, love of cheese. She's isn't (usually) shy when it comes to getting what she wants but Oscar has her tongue-tied for some reason.

Oscar, our delicious dairy farmer, is a broody, tattooed, beast of a man of very few words. He drives up from Bailey Falls every Saturday to attend the farmers market in Manhattan to peddle his wares and peddle he does. This is where the two initially meet.

Things get exciting when the Bailey Falls council request a New York advertising firm to help promote and boost tourism to the picturesque town and Natalie happily takes that on. We're treated to a fun-filled ride that initially oozes sexual tension. Watching the normally confident Natalie get all shy and speechless around Oscar was really sweet and once they finally get more than a few words strung together, it was quite a bit of steamy fun. The characters are entertaining and engaging and I could have happily kept on reading. I'm looking forward to the next in the series and hopefully won't be waiting too long!

As far as I'm concerned, Alice Clayton is RomCom royalty and she absolutely delivers with Cream of the Crop, the second standalone in her Hudson Valley series. I *think* this may be my favorite series from this author but I'm not prepared to commit to that! Really enjoyable and highly recommended.
