Without Merit by Colleen Hoover

REVIEWED BY Becky Cox

Without MeritWithout Merit by Colleen Hoover
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Without Merit, is quite possibly Colleen's best work to date.

It isn't about sex (I mean, well, a little). It isn't about a big dramatic love affair. It's about life and family. It's about the consequences of our actions. It's about loving a boy for the first time.

“Not every mistake deserves a consequence. Sometimes the only thing it deserves is forgiveness.”

A lesson we all could learn for especially our family but friends as well. This book is so moving and so eyeopening to our own flaws and the perceived injustices done to us that if we used a different perspective we might be owing some apologizes ourselves.

"We're just two different people with two different sets of experiences."

I loved all the characters in this book. Colleen makes them so real and so relatable I feel like I know them all. Barnaby, Victoria, Vicki, Utah, Honor, Merit, Moby, Sagan and Luck and even old Wolfgang. The names, lord, where does she come up with this stuff.

"It isn't actually the issues people are hung up about for so long. It's that no one has the courage to take the first step in talking about the issues."

This statement could not be more true. I, for one, am the world's worst about talking about issues.

Colleen's writing gets more brilliant with every book and Without Merit is solid gold.
