Broken Heart by Angel Rose

This book was a story about Jenesis moving to a new city for a new beginning and falling in love. She makes friends along the way, including David, whom takes it upon himself to look after her and become her father figure. The story has different twists and leaves with a mystery as to what is happening next.
I had a hard time connecting with this book. I couldn't get a read on the characters. Their personalities went back and forth too much for my taste. David would be a terrible guy, a good guy, a father figure, to a mean old man. Thomas was supposed to be the great love of her life, but I struggled getting that feeling when he's being crazy possessive and acting with behaviors of an abuser. I couldn't get pulled into the book like I would have liked because I felt it was bouncing around too much, but the story is unique and I think Jenesis's story has potential to provide more.
I think some of the things I couldn't make sense of may be answered in the second book, which I have not read yet, so I'm optimistic about what is to come!
