White Heaven Women by Jessie B. Tyson

REVIEWED BY Becky Cox

White Heaven WomenWhite Heaven Women by Jessie B. Tyson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was gifted a copy of this book for an honest review.

White Heaven Women was a wonderful surprise. The imagery of the historic element of this book was so well done and accurate in my opinion. The attitude towards woman, social classes and special needs children is heartbreaking but so true to that era.

The modern aspect of White Heaven Women is also well done. The intertwining of the two is an adventure that I enjoyed very much. The ghosts, reincarnation aspect and just plain strange occurrences give this book an entirely other element that is exciting.

Jessie Tyson gives us an historic element, mystery, paranormal presences and romance. She kept me intrigued and turning pages to find out what would happen next.

You will enjoy meeting Beth, Sally and Constance and the many supporting characters you will fall in love with, especially Patrick. There are also a few you will love to hate. Some just plain cruel and some possessed.

I highly recommend this book for lovers of paranormal with an historic romance element.

Moonlight Rider by Charlotte Boyett-Compo

REVIEWED BY Becky Cox

Moonlight RiderMoonlight Rider by Charlotte Boyett-Compo
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was gifted a copy of this book for an honest review.

When I read the synopsis for this book I got a Robin Hood vibe. After reading the book, there is a bit of that element but there is so much more.

Declan is just plain delectable and while he is a rogue you can't help but fall in love with him, along with all the female characters in the book. He has a good heart and determined to make a difference for the underprivileged but sometimes his methods aren't the best and lands him in a bit of trouble.

Althea and Bess are both strong women and determined to get what they want, which unfortunately for the two of them is Declan. I love strong female characters and definitely get that with Althea and Bess.

Charlotte Boyette-Compo takes us on an adventure with so many twist you don't know what is going to happen until you turn the last page. I was on pins and needles waiting to see what happened. Who lived, who died and who loved.

Her imagery of the historic times, scenery, dress and attitudes was perfectly done and a joy to read.

I look forward to the next book hinted at in the Epilogue of Moonlight Rider. Thank you for a great adventure Charlotte!

Fifteen Weekends by Christy Pastore

REVIEWED BY Becky Cox

Fifteen Weekends (The Weekends Series, #1)Fifteen Weekends by Christy Pastore
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

4.5 Stars

I was gifted a copy of this book for an honest review.

Christy Pastore gives us three loosely woven together stories that slowly entwine themselves. It is craftily done and keeps the stories interesting.
Amanda, Ashleigh and Emily are all strong successful women working through their separate issues.

Christy's men are all handsome, hot and swoon-worthy. We have a bit of mystery that I am looking forward to finding out more about in the next installment.

As each woman works through her past and resulting issues it peals another layer away of the story.

Enjoyed this one very much and looking forward to more from Christy. Great debut!

Garrett by Sawyer Bennett

REVIEWED BY Micky Barnard

Garrett (Cold Fury Hockey, #2)Garrett by Sawyer Bennett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I've read this series out of sync but not one of them has disappointed. The thread of other characters and known couples throughout the series just makes the read even better.

Garrett is the playboy of the cold fury team, that is, until he meets Olivia. He sees her as a temporary bed companion but that soon changes as she invokes strong feelings after one date. Olivia is hiding a huge secret and just wants one night of passion to forget the difficult months ahead.

This book deals with some pretty tough stuff that Olivia is experiencing and Sawyer Bennett does it very well. The epilogue was just everything I needed.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was given a copy for an honest review. I found this to be such an interesting paranormal book. The debut book includes many of my favorites including gargoyles, vampires, witches, shifters, mermaids, and witches. I loved how the author explained how these beings were created.

Milcah, the leading lady did not grow up under ideal circumstances and now she must try to save the earth. Her guardian Jarod, is literally made of stone. Paulina sends Jarod and Milcah on a journey to save the earth. I am looking forward to catching up with them and the other characters in this fascinating tale.

REVIEWED BY Joanne Swinney

Unscripted (The Scripted Series, #1)Unscripted by Christy Pastore
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

You know when you think you have read it all and then a book comes along and you realise you haven't ?. Well that was this book. A completely new story with so many twists that it keeps you engrossed and turning the pages to reach the end. The story is brilliant, the characters are complex. Holliday Prescott is a young woman who has suffered the worst kind of abuse imaginable, I'm talking horrific, nothing could have prepared me for what I read. Everyone deals with trauma in their own way and tries hard to move past what has happened, for some it is impossible. Author Christy Pastore dealt with the issues in this book both sensitively and erotically.
Ronan Connolly a father of two adorable little girls, is a huge celebrity, always in the limelight. You would think he has it all, money, power, women throwing themselves at him but it's never that easy. Life has a strange way of making your life change course sometimes not for the better.
These two beautiful characters come together by chance and the journey you take with them is one I can only describe as a roller coaster ride of emotions. I have cried, felt great sadness, I have laughed so hard I was unable to read until I could get myself under control. The chemistry between this pair is phenomenal.
Ronan is a great protector and lover, he's sometimes too good to be true. Holliday needs a man like Ronan, actually we all do. Hello new book boyfriend, LOL!
There is a book 2 coming out and thank God no cliff hanger. I'm bursting with anticipation to read.
If you are thinking of reading this book, DO IT! I would definitely recommend this book to all lovers of erotic romance, just hold on to your knickers because it's a wild ride.
Thank you so much for sharing your book with me Christy Pastore. Please, please hurry up with book 2.

The Allure of Julian LefrayThe Allure of Julian Lefray by R.S. Grey
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Allure of Julian Lefray by RS Grey

I really enjoy reading the works of this author. RS Grey generally creates a pretty perfect combination of sweet and sexy, funny and serious and The Allure of Julian Lefray is no exception. I realized I was on to a great read from the first page of the prologue where I first snorted in laughter and it continued in that vein. The characters are ridiculously likable and you could easily imagine calling them up for a coffee date. I love, love, LOVED fashion blogger, Jo. I loved that she was a strong character! None of the whiney, needy characteristics that are all too common. She was strong, sexy, rather sassy yet with a vulnerable side. And Julian Lefray make me Lesigh. Seriously, I'm pretty much in love with him right now. An awesome guy, really sweet but such a sexy beast of a man. They're such awesome, fun characters and I enjoyed watching their relationship develop. I think RS Grey really hit the nail on this book and I'm already ready for a reread. I'm really hoping there'll be another book or two featuring some secondary characters. I highly recommend this romcom and give 5 alluring stars.

Jesus, Mary and Joseph! Grab a snack and prepare to be amazed this book is outstanding. I have just read something new and fresh, it was exciting, it was off the charts EPIC.
Babu is a reviewer of Indie Authors, HA! I know right? but let me tell you, he's not like us, the man is brutal beyond anything I have ever read. I always endeavour to give an honest review. I do not see myself as a critic, to be honest I hate that word with a passion. I'm a lover of books, I am a reader who then gives an opinion on what I read. I do not go out of my way to hurt an Author. Everyone has their own tastes so while some will love a book, others will not, but that's ok. I just think while writing a review be respectful. Babu is anything but respectful, his fans/followers take his word as gospel, pfft! We all have our own minds, take a look for yourself and decide if you like something or not.
Babu goes out of his way to ruin the life of Indie Author L. Blackburn with some help from L. Blackburn's ex wife Noelle, the woman is poison and deluded beyond belief. She refuses to believe that her ex husband "Larson" has a preference for the male gender. In hindsight I do empathise that this must have been hurtful to her, being married to a man and discovered she will never be able to fulfil him sexually.
The passion in this book is fuelled to overload your senses. It was indeed a hot summers day but the heat I was experiencing wasn't caused by the sun but to what I was reading, I was burning up from the inside-out. Larson knows what he wants out of life, he is egotistical and stubborn but smoking hot, he knows how to keep his lovers satisfied and has no problem in giving them explosive orgasms. Lucky them and lucky reader, the attention to detail is mind blowing.
Babu has suffered in his past and needs help in dealing with this trauma. I honestly do not want to give any spoilers out but I have to say the 'Queer Detector' made my stomach churn while tears slid down my face. Although I did feel sadness for a short time, this book is filled with humour. So many laugh out loud moments, I was giggling away.
I will definitely be recommending this book and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did. Remember the next time you review, NO BLACK BALLING.
Thank you Eva and Andrea for sharing your brilliant book.

Easy Silence by Beth Rinyu

While I certainly enjoy this author's works, this particular book is not the type that I would (normally) actively seek out to read but I was given an arc in exchange for an honest review so here it is!
This book was an extreme roller-coaster ride. I experienced many highs and many lows while reading. It was a really special and unique read and I can't and won't talk about the story because it really just needs to be read. I will talk about the characters though. Jaxson is such a heartbreakingly strong character. He has been through so much and shunned by society for reasons that are beyond his control and he believes he's unworthy of love and certainly unworthy of Samantha. And then you have Samantha herself, the poor rich girl from the right side, who doesn't even realize that she's living a lie and all she wants is love in its purest form.
Jaxson and Samantha are just a young couple trying to find themselves, love and each other. This truly is a beautiful story that needs to be read. I thank the author for pushing me well out of my reading comfort zone and give 5 teary stars.

In this story Rebecca has been keeping a secret for 7 years. She is a single mom to a little boy named Danny that has lukiemia. She has ran out of options of finding a bone marrow donor for her son. She knows she must get in contact with danny's father if she has any chance of trying to save him from this disease. Can they get it right the second time around? Can they have there happily ever after? Can Nathan save his son from this disease before its to late?

I loved this story. It makes you believe in second chances. I felt so bad that Rebecca dealt with her son's disease for so long by herself. It took a lot of courage on her part to watch him be so sick and finally do the right thing by emailing Nathan for help. She wanted to give her son the best chance of getting better.

REVIEWED BY Micky Barnard

Doctor-Patient Confidentiality: Volume One (The Confidential Series, #1)Doctor-Patient Confidentiality: Volume One by Eme Strife
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

2.5 stars

This is the first installment of a series, a short read at 16,000 words. The blurb immediately raises your eyebrows with the words school, doctor, sex and relationship but I'm not one to close my mind to these things, so I read it. The prologue is sex-filled with some pretty uncomfortable reading when you have the blurb in mind and the sexual language just lacked some finesse.

I liked the main character Roni, a college music major (yes, thank goodness she's college-age!). She was interesting and in some ways an unlikely heroine. What evolved in this installment were lengthy descriptions of some fairly mundane parts of college life but I remained invested for some nugget of the hero and heroine meeting to some extent. I was disappointed because, nothing much happened other than scene setting. This first book has good reviews and for some it has definitely hit the mark. Unfortunately it wasn't for me.

The Forbidden Billionaire by J.S. Scott

REVIEWED By Joanne Swinney

The Forbidden Billionaire (The Sinclairs, #2)The Forbidden Billionaire by J.S. Scott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received an ARC copy for an honest review

Luckily I wasn't forbidden to read this book because I would have missed out. I am hooked on The Sinclair Series. Every time I read I can't wait for the next one. This is Jared Sinclair's story, he should be hidden never mind being forbidden. Such a beautiful man inside and out. The dominate traits that these men have gives me Goosebumps, it's something in the Billionaire Genes or should I say Jeans, Oh boy I can see him now, shirtless, filling out a pair of Jeans the only way Jared could. Think HUGE, wink wink!!
Jared has a secret about his past, something he's never going to forget and struggles to move forward with his life because of it. Nobody knows what has occurred in Jared's life, not even his family except his brother Evan, you can't hide nothing from him but that's for a whole another story which I am looking forward to reading.
Jared finds himself attracted to a lady called Mara who works in a shop making dolls. Her grandmother and her mother all used to work making these beautiful dolls, it was only natural that Mara would keep up family tradition. Unfortunately her premises have been sold and she must find somewhere else to live along with finding a new job. Mara is very much alone in this world, she has a friend called Kristen but no family to help her out.
Jared has his own ideas about helping Mara out when he finds out she can make the best jams and sauces he's ever tasted. He desperately wants her to move because he knows the building she resides in is unsafe.
Mara is such a sweet girl, she has cared for others her whole life, she has never used anybody for her own personal gain and she's not about to start now, although Jared can be very persuasive when he wants to be.
Tragedy strikes. Gasp!! Don't worry remember HEA. It's Author J.S. Scott number one rule.
Difficult times are ahead for Mara and Jared. Secrets will be revealed, feelings will be hurt BUT true love and a Sinclair Billionaire will always find a way to right a wrong.
This book is an absolute must read. I recommend all lovers of Erotic Contemporary Romance read Forbidden Billionaire. I am now patiently waiting for Evan Sinclair's story. I see lip biting with anticipation in my future. Author J.S. Scott thank you so much for continuing to write such fabulous stories.

Summer SecretsSummer Secrets by Jane Green
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It's been some time since I immersed myself in a Jane Green book and I honestly don't know why I had a hiatus. This was an achingly real view into the world of an alcoholic. Cat has drunk too much since her teens and in her late 20s she realises it's a problem. Why Cat is this way is pretty complicated. This story goes back and forth in time which can be irritating in some books but Jane Green writes these phases so well that it works brilliantly. This story is deep and it builds to a ending that is quite something. I would have loved an epilogue.

Step F*#K (A Stepbrother Series Book 1)Step F*#K by Scarlett Ward
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

OH wow this was such a fun read I haven't laugh this much with a book EVER!

So there are four parts to this story. I will be reviewing each individually. This is PART ONE

In this first part we meet Emma and Jai. Emma from the outside is an insecure girl who is concentrating on getting the good grades and in spite of loving Art she usually pleases everyone doing what they think is best for her, her parents have been separated and her mom is planning on getting married soon, all this has made Emma sceptical about love. She has been burnt in the past and is in no need of a relationship, although her roommate doesn't seem to think so, therefore she takes matters into her own hands and subscribes her to a dating website. After a drunken night the girls discover there is someone interested in meeting her and for the description sounds like a very hot date, how bad can things go?. Cue Jai.
Jai is in California for his father's wedding and is in need of a little adventure so he decides to go on a dating website an have a little fun.

From the moment Emma and Jai met things take a turn, what was supposed to be a one night stand turns into something more serious, one night of passion changes things for both but the morning after brings many unexpected surprises and revelations, and just when Emma thinks she wouldn't have to see Jai ever again a bombshell is dropped and it seems she will will be spending more than what she thought in the company of Jai her soon to be "stepbrother".

OMG this book was so god, it was only the first part but is a short read and you are seriously left on a cliffy. Read on as you wont be disappointed.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was gifted a copy for an honest review, and I was blown away. It is my first Beth Rinyu book, but I can assure you it won't be my last.

Ms. Rinyu's characterization draws you in and makes you live the story with the characters. I could completely relate to Samantha and her troubles with her parents as well as her love and caring for her grammy.

Jax is gorgeous and dark. His childhood was a nightmare and left its scars, internally and externally.

I loved Sam's sassy side and a few of her outburst were most enjoyable and made me laugh. She is a straight talker and if you don't want to know don't ask her. LOL

This an ugly cry romance and has a huge twist that I never saw coming. It is heart wrenching but somehow it is still the perfect ending.

I loved this book and will be recommending it highly!

3.5 stars

This book is an immediate continuation of Say My Name and it is good to see the outcome of where Book One ended. This is an angsty ride with a lot of downs and not many ups for Jackson and Syl.

Jackson reveals his truth to Damien Stark and I was wanting so much to get inside the relationship between these two stubborn, controlling men. I really enjoyed the bond between Syl and Jackson but again I craved more depth to their connection than creative sex. This series remains very intriguing and I look forward seeing where their story goes.

A Dangerous Fury by J.S. Scott

REVIEWED BY Joanne Swinney

A Dangerous Fury (The Sentinel Demons, #3)A Dangerous Fury by J.S. Scott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love to read Paranormal Romance books and have been eagerly waiting to read about Hunter. The Sentinels Series is one of my favourite Paranormal reads.
Hunter is indeed a demon hunter, Hunter by name hunter by nature. From the beginning he was never one to sit around and wait for things to happen, the Sentinel is a doer not a thinker.
His leader Kristoff sends him on a journey to go see the Goddess Athena. Athena is protected by very powerful magic, the kind that no man could penetrate but Hunter is not a just a man he's a powerful Sentinel with powers of his own. Unfortunately his powers are failing him, he can't understand why. Beasts are attacking him from all directions while he makes his way to Athena. The task should have been simple but the journey is one that is so dangerous thoughts of Hunter not surviving become all to real.
Athena is patiently awaiting for Hunter to arrive, she thought he would have arrived long ago. She has never left her home which has been like living in a prison but with all the luxuries anyone would desire. It has been a lonely existence for her but one she has lived regardless of the walls surrounding her.
Athena is a very powerful Goddess, she has no problem protecting herself.
What occurs after the brutal journey that Hunter had to make is astounding it's not what I expected at all.
If you have read the first to books in this series you will know that Kristoff and Athena are close friends. I always believed they would mate one day.
Such a wonderful feeling to be in love but it's never without a series of complications.
Sentinels who find their true mate become very protective, an instinct they can not fight against no matter how hard they try. So many evils out there wanting to hurt humans and most definitely the mates of Sentinels. This is why God created the Sentinels to protect the humans. The cycle of life is the same for everyone that is human, you live, hopefully fall in love, be happy and then you die. For a Sentinel it can be a life spam of thousands of years with no mate.
I loved this book. Author J.S.Scott always brings the story to life. Thank you once again for a brilliantly read.

Ally Monroe wakes up after being in a coma for a year with amnesia. A coma that was caused by an auto accident that took the lives of her parents.

She has two brothers, Trevor and Alex (her twin). They are part of a band that includes band mates Joey and Chase, who are also long time family friends.

I really felt for Ally during the times in the book that she couldn't remember stuff. I can't even imagine her frustration and that of her brothers.

I think the author does a really good job pulling you into the story. I loved this book and was very, very happy when she got her memories back.

Ashley Peyton works in real estate and sells a house to Alex Vicente. There is something between them right from the start. Ashley is very independant and seems to go back and forth with Alex. Light a Candle for the Beast by Echo Shea

REVIEWED BY Joanne Swinney

Light a Candle for the BeastLight a Candle for the Beast by Echo Shea
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a very short read. 24 pages short but it is a good read. If you love all things paranormal, this is the book for you.
We meet Rebecca, well that's her name now. She's very troubled in this life, exhausted even. She buried her sister, Delia a long time ago and sent her sisters ex to a dark and miserable place, it sounds a lot like hell. It seems when Delia was alive her partner Andrew was the ultimate low life, beating Delia. Rebecca can't forgive him, so she has made him suffer for an extremely long time. Delia pleads with her sister to give forgiveness, let the past go. Ghosts, magic, spells it's all unknown and I suppose it's something we will never know if it's true or not. Who decides where your soul is laid to rest? One thing I do know Andrew was bad and Delia loved him regardless. Rebecca hated him but her sister Delia was right, she needed to forgive.

Identity Crisis by Grace Marshall

REVIEWED BY Joanne Swinney

Identity Crisis (The Executive Decision Trilogy, #2)Identity Crisis by Grace Marshall
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Time to breathe. This book was epic. Garett Thorne, the brother of famous CEO, Ellis Thorne is an amazing man. He's been writing for years under a pen name. Garrett really wants to keep this all a secret but his agent and publisher has other ideas. He is up for an award and they want him to reveal himself. He comes up with a plan to hire someone to be the famous writer Tess Delaney. Perfect plan, right? If only all plans of deceit actually worked out. Kendra Davis, best friend of Dee, who's now engaged to Ellis Thorne, wants to work for Tess, she's good at what she does and will stop at nothing to meet the woman who writes these fantastic novels. Kendra no stranger to taking on new identities, gets an interview with Tess or is it Garett and is Garett meeting Kay or Kendra. Obviously Garett and Kendra already know each other and really dislike each other, so this made for a very interesting read. There's problems and complications from the minute Tess Delaney comes out of hiding. When she finds herself being stalked. things turn nasty. Many celebrities have their share of harmless fans messaging and following them around. When messages become more serious such as death threats, it's really time to get some extra help. Kendra acts all tough and actually is a strong woman but things from her past take over her emotions. Garett is an absolute talented hottie. I've laughed and loved the romance in this book. At one point I was even shouting at my kindle, like the characters in this book could actually hear me lol. This was brilliantly written. I'm ready for book three in this trilogy.

Vicious Cycle by Katie Ashley

REVIEWED BY Micky Barnard

Vicious Cycle (Vicious Cycle, #1)Vicious Cycle by Katie Ashley
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is my first read of Katie Ashley outside of the rocker world. This is a book narrating the MC life, rough, dirty and loyal. The starting chapter is truly gripping, charting 5 year old Willow witnessing the brutal murder of her mother. Willow is brought to the father she's never met, Deacon. She's closed up, non-verbal and in need of love and security. Willow is taken under the wing of her kindergarten teacher, Alexandra. Alexandra braves the MC to check on Willow and has a tough introduction to the world.

I found Deacon a difficult character to like and his connection with Alexandra unlikely and tricky to invest in. Reading about Willow was a delight.

The publisher provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Safe by C. Kennedy

REVIEWED BY Joanne Swinney

SafeSafe by C. Kennedy
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

SAFE. A word that holds so much meaning for Nico. Most parents want to protect their children, never letting any harm come to them but unfortunately some parents are cruel beyond belief. I've never understood how someone can cause such harm to a child never mind their own.
Although I felt sadness reading this story, I found myself smiling a lot too. Nico and Caleb are two young boys growing up as best friends, doing all the normal things teenagers do, hanging out, doing homework together, sleepovers.
Nico is older than Caleb by a few months but he's smaller and lives his life in fear. His dad is as mean as they come. Nico has suffered years of violent abuse, his dad likes to drink them beat him up. There are so many words I wish to use right now to describe this monster but not really appropriate for a review.
Caleb is a wonderful boy, looking out for Nico wishing he could help and feeling hurt at what his best friend is going through.
When something happens at school, you know everyone finds out about it. One day is a complete nightmare for Nico and Caleb.
Caleb worries so bad for Nico, he fears for that school day to be over. Both parents of the boys have to collect them from school at the end of the day.
Caleb is lucky to have such wonderful parents, supportive, help guide him. Yes his mom is strict but she loves him and protects him.
Nico doesn't have that lifestyle, his mom can't protect him and he can't protect his mom.
As you can imagine the news of Nico being Gay does not go down well with his father. The man is brutal. I HATE HIM!!
The best thing about this book is reading the love blossom between two best friends, it's heart warming, it's beautiful. Smiling while turning the pages. It's an excellent read, written brilliantly.
Today I am thankful that I decided to read this book. Thank you Cody Kennedy for sharing this wonderful book. To all who read this review I hope where ever you are YOU ARE SAFE.

For the Win by Brenna Aubrey

REVIEWED BY Micky Barnard

For the Win (Gaming the System, #4)For the Win by Brenna Aubrey
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have enjoyed everything that Brenna Aubrey has written but at the conclusion of Adam and Mia's story, I was unsure about Jordan. I didn't gel with him as a character, so felt a little dubious about him as a lead in this book. Jordan, is arrogant, selfish and sometimes cowardly but no one can deny he's hot and in this book he slowly revealed a softer, kinder side. Jordan is the CFO for Adam's company, a talented business man and negotiator. April is about to start an internship in Adam company, as an assistant for Jordan. April made a stupid drunk decision and made a sex tape with an anonymous fellow cosplayer on a one night stand. Her hot and satisfying one night stand has no idea the tape was made until it was leaked. This tape shows that one of them is an employee of Draco and Jordan's job is to find the perpetrator.

April is a likable character who seems to find her inner strength as the book progresses. Jordan really is an ass for much of the book but I couldn't help being drawn into those chinks of heart he showed. This series is a favourite of mine but you really can read this book as a standalone. For fans of the series, Mia and Adam are a part of the story, something which I thoroughly enjoyed.

I was given a copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Pretty Hot by Donna Alam

REVIEWED BY Joanne Swinney

Pretty Hot (Pretty, #1)Pretty Hot by Donna Alam
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 HOT STARS

HOT HOT HOT!! I honestly didn't know what to expect when picking up this book. We read so many sometimes they all seem alike but it's a Genre I love to read. This book had me hooked, absolute page turner. Full of humour, sexy scenes, fantastic story line. TOTALLY GRIPPING!!
Donna Alam has wrote a story that readers of books like 50 shades will completely love. It's not a copy of any other book, it has its own unique story, fresh and captivating.
One of the main characters Kate from Australia, she has moved to Dubai after having her heart broken by the weasel ex fiancé Shane. Kate moves in with her friend Niamh till she gets herself sorted. Looking for a new job, a new life that will make her happy. The only thing Kate doesn't want is a boyfriend. Trust such an easy word to write and say but to give trust after having it broken is one of the hardest things to do.
Kate and Niamh are hilarious, I've laughed out loud with them on many occasions while reading.
Kate gets a job teaching at an all girls school, it's here that she has an encounter with a man called Kia. She is affected instantly just by being in his mere presence but she tells herself NO WAY, NOT HAPPENING!!.
Kia definitely has other plans. He can't get Kate out of his mind, needing just one chance to get to know her a little better.
Kia is a wealthy man mainly because of his background. Born into such wealth gives you a great start in life, he works hard but plays even harder. Oh that man is a God. He sounds like such a dream, he's been in my dreams since reading this book.
In Dubai their lifestyle is very different, many strange laws to follow and certain traditions that will not suit everyone. Kia does not want to be like others but his father a very unreasonable man has his own ideas how Kia should live and how his future should pan out, actually Kate has the same problem with her mother, interfering in her life, thinking she knows what is best. Kate and Kia are both adults and should be able to live how they see fit without interference but life is just not that simple.
The ending is left on a cliffy BUT do not despair, chapter one of book two is ready to read at the end PHEW!!
Complications and drama is what makes a good book but what makes a great book is having a fresh story with the elements of what we love to read about. This book is a must read. DON'T DELAY READ IT TODAY!! Thank you Donna Alam for sharing your brilliantly written story. Time for me to read book two.

Pretty Liar by Donna Alam

REVIEWED BY Joanne Swinney

Pretty Liar (Pretty, #2)Pretty Liar by Donna Alam
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

RED HOT READ! Book two in the Pretty Trilogy is outstandingly EPIC. I am just loving this trilogy. Expressing my thoughts about books I have read is never easy. I'm a reader not a writer but I do give an honest review and hope that I do each book justice.
I had to read this book immediately after reading Book One 'Pretty Hot'. It was midnight and I couldn't get to sleep until I had my fill.
In my head the characters are real, I believe that's because the Author has drawn me fantastically into to her world of Kate and Kia.
Just like Kate when her heart is pounding mine is ready to burst out of my chest. All the emotions portrayed in this book I have felt, the joy, the laughter, the sadness. I am so eager for people to read and feel the same way. I want to chat to them about this book.
Kate is happy, she's scared not of Kia but of how she feels. Being hurt so badly by someone she believed loved her is hard for her to get over but at the same time she has to admit to herself that she's never felt this way before not even for her ex Shane.
So many people warning her to stay away from Kia but he promises to look after her begging her to trust him. Not only to protect her but to trust that he will take care of all her pleasure, she will never need anyone apart from him. TRUE FACT!! The man is Ohhhhhhh!! Yes I am drooling. He is beautiful, he's skilled in ways we only dare to dream about.
Kia has a cousin called Essam, he's such a sleaze ball. I really do not like him, Kate feels the same way. She has a very low opinion of him and with good reason. He keeps warning her about Kia and one night he takes it to far. Oh god he makes my skin crawl. He needs to be put in a kennel.
After certain events happen, Kate can not even think clearly, she has a lot to deal with. Essam for one then Kia's father giving her an unwelcome visit, words can not describe the low life that his father is. Then of course we have Sofia. Let me tell you about Sofia, first word that springs to mind is TRAMP! She is married but doesn't mind putting herself about. After reading I know why but still the woman is disgustingly evil.
Things go past the point of no return for Kate and she does what she always does, she runs or rather flies the hell out of Dubai.
Queue ex fiancé Shane, why on God's earth does he still think he's in with a chance of re kindling their relationship is beyond me.
Heartbroken and consumed with grief Kate doesn't know what to think, feel or do. Kia is pretty much the same way. No matter what has happen in this story one thing is clear, LOVE. They most definitely 100% are in love with each other. What happens next I can't wait to find out. Thank you Donna Alam for sharing your epic story.

Beneath These Chains by Meghan March

REVIEWED BY Micky Barnard

Beneath These Chains (Beneath, #3)Beneath These Chains by Meghan March
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is my first book by Meghan March and it was a pleasure to read. This is a book of hotness, quirky characters with depth and a great storyline.

Elle is a rich women but she's not living an entitled life. She's living for adventure and with a mission to achieve. She seeks a job in a pawn shop in search of her late Father's lost and treasured watch. She strolls into Chains, Lord's domain and she's completely out of place. Elle won't take no for an answer on the job front and they end up rubbing along together. Desire is crackling, people are getting killed and family test everything.

I devoured the book and although Elle and Lord has a quick connection, it was believable and I could invest in it. I am dying to go back and read the other books note but they standalone well.

I was provided with a copy of this book by the publisher in return for an honest review.

The Pentagram Child: Part 1 (Afterlife Saga, #5)The Pentagram Child: Part 1 by Stephanie Hudson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Pentagram Child: Part 1 (Afterlife Saga #5)
Author Stephanie Hudson

Pentagram Child has it all; suspense, drama, humor, love and sexy as hell broody Draven. I laughed, cried, and chewed my nails. Near the end I literally threw my hands in the air and yelled "Are you kidding me!" I felt like I was in a scary movie telling the characters "no no run the other way!"

This is my first book in this series, but believe me when I tell you I will be going back and reading all the books leading up to this one and the ones that follow.

Keira is a wonderful character and her interactions with all of her friends was fun and endearing. Loved the Imp, her fantastical clothing and never ending humor. When Keira and Draven's heart broke mine did also. Thank you for the experience Ms. Hudson. Looking forward to many more.

King by T.M. Frazier

REVIEWED BY Melinda Lazar

King (King, #1)King by T.M. Frazier
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

King by TM Frazier

There was such a long wait for this book and I really worried that I had built high expectations and would be feeling let down. Well, let me just say, that this book was absolutely amazing and well worth that long wait! The plot, the characters, the twists were all perfection and I just could not put it down till the last page.
King and Doe are such an amazing couple and really interesting to get to know. King is sexy, confident and takes no prisoners. Doe doesn't who she is or where she came from that. She just knows that she's desperate and is reduced to extreme measures. The are awesome characters and I loved them both! Further to that, it's not often that secondary characters also take a place in your heart and in the instance of Preppy and Bear, they sure did.
I really don't want to give away any of the story because there's no way I can possibly do it justice. But I will say that this book had me feeling so many emotions throughout. I was laughing one minute, gasping in shock the next and then crying a few minutes later and all of this amounted to an outstanding five star read. I simply could not get enough of King and Doe and the others and as far am im concerned, August can't come quick enough for me to get my hands on part two!

Marrow by Tarryn Fisher

REVIEWED BY Becky Cox

MarrowMarrow by Tarryn Fisher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I finished the book over a week ago and had to absorb it all before I could write my review. I love Tarryn Fisher's work and this book is no exception. I think I had to come to terms with the fact that I really loved Margo even though my conscience says maybe I shouldn't. Tarryn has a unique ability to draw you into her stories and make you feel like you are living in the story and are personal friends with the characters.

As always with Tarryn's books there is some dark moments, okay lots of dark moments. But like I said with Mud Vein, it is sheer brilliance the way she weaves a story and just as soon as you think you have it figured out, nope sorry, she spins your 180.

Judah, what a great character. I loved him from the minute he and Margo spoke to each other. So insightful and caring.

"Sometimes by saving someone else, you save yourself a little as well. By loving someone else and expecting nothing in return, we learn to love ourselves and expect nothing in return" T. Fisher

Tarryn is simply brilliant in my opinion. Thanks for another emotionally challenging experience Tarryn!

4.5 Stars
I was gifted a copy for an honest review.

I loved this satire about the on-line blogging community and erotica/romance authors. Taking it for what it was I enjoyed the writing style, the characters and the their interactions. Yes, some of it is over the top but that is the point, right!? Ms. Silver lays out our crazy world of authors, bloggers, editors, publicists, fans, street teams....and it's in your face funny.

Michael Rourke who writes under the pen name, Christoph Strong's biggest nemesis is erotic author Betty Black.

Lauren, who writes under the pen name Betty Black, met Michael Rourke 8 years ago at a convention and felt a connection with him that started one of her book series.

Now can Michael and Lauren and Christoph and Betty all have a relationship?

I loved all of the characters, they felt like friends of mine. Loved Monica and Jeffrey and wish I had a Jeffery, ha ha.

A fun read!

Tony: Alvarez Security Series by Maryann Jordan

REVIEWED BY Becky Cox

Tony: Alvarez Security SeriesTony: Alvarez Security Series by Maryann Jordan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was gifted a copy for an honest review.

This is my first book by Maryann Jordan. Tony is an ex-military owner of a security company with a long ago broken heart.

Sherrie is a gung ho but naive paralegal and case worker for children services.

They met about a year prior to this book when Tony saved her from an unfortunate situation involving her drug addicted sister. He was attracted to her but never made a move and just watched her from afar. Sherrie has had a crush on him since they met as well, but thinks he doesn't like her because of the distant he places between them.

There is an interesting mystery intermingled with Tony and Sherrie's story. Ms. Jordan delivered love, angst, mystery and comedy...oh yeah and some hot sex scenes. Love a strong male character and Tony definitely delivers.

Thanks for a good read.

The Exhibition by Grace Marshall

REVIEWED BY Joanne Swinney

The Exhibition (The Executive Decision Trilogy, #3)The Exhibition by Grace Marshall
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Brilliant end to an amazing trilogy. So many fantastic characters. This book tells us about Stacie Emerson, the life long friend of the Thorne brothers and Harris Walker the best friend of Kendra and Dee all characters from book one and two.
Stacie comes across as a strong willed making the impossible happen in the art industry. She runs an art gallery that she saved from bankruptcy. She works incredibly hard and has succeeded where others have failed. All this has not happened without its consequences. It has been beyond tough. Terence Jamison has made sure Stacie did things the hard way. The man is pure evil, he controls Stacie, he will never let her live a normal happy life. He wants to possess her, own her and he actually believes that he does but she is strong in mind and older now.
Harris Walker is a photographer, a very talented photographer and Stacie wants his photo's in her gallery. Harris however dislikes Stacie and doesn't trust her from the time he meets her. Everyone tries to explain to him that Stacie knows what she is doing and he should learn to trust her. He starts to realise that they could be right.
Stacie and Harris start to get along but this puts them both in danger. Terence Jamison will not allow Stacie to be with any other man.
No body really knows what Stacie has had to endure over the years. Her close friends can not believe what she has been through at the hands of Terence Jamison.
Things are never as they seem and I was on the edge of my seat reading.
I have been on a brilliant journey reading about all the characters in this trilogy. Thank you Grace Marshall.

Kink: Stranger Book 3Kink: Stranger Book 3 by N.M. Catalano
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is my first book in this series. After reading the hotness that is Kink, I am looking forward to reading Stranger and Switch.

I was given an ARC for an honest review. I am just lucky my Kindle didn't melt.

The promise of erotic delights beyond her most intimate imagination are being offered to her without words, with a touch, without so much as a whisper...

Elsie is a tiny fireball, but has her demons that she tries to hide.

John, ex-miliary 6'6" bag of hotness has his eye on Elsie and she on him. Her secrets keep her from pursuing what she so desperately wants. John has his own skeletons that have prevented from having a committed relationship in the past.

And then we have Brian who is blonde haired with blue eyes and a laid back nice guy. Brian is also John's best friend.

There is a great twist in this book and the back stories keep you turning pages.

Love all of Elsie friends and can't wait to read Stranger and Switch to find out their stories.

I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a hot read with a great story line.

Alex by Sawyer Bennett

REVIEWED BY Micky Barnard

Alex (Cold Fury Hockey, #1)Alex by Sawyer Bennett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the perfect easy read book. I'm a sucker for a sports hero in a book and Sawyer Bennett seems to have a perfect formula to writing a number of different ones. She scored a goal with Alex.

Alex is the icy, disinterested player in the Cold Fury hockey team. His team mates stay away from him and Alex likes it that way. Alex hates the game and just wants to be distracted in life. The Cold Fury management are sick of his attitude and how it is coming across to fans, so he's told to clean up his act. This involves joining forces with a local drugs rehab counsellor and becoming an ambassador for their work. Sutton is the counsellor and she bowls Alex over on sight. He's used to the 'love 'em and leave 'em' approach but Sutton makes him want more than that. Sutton wants to keep their relationship professional. It's a great story, total escapism and I loved it.

This is my second read of the Cold Fury series, so I've read them out of order but they standalone even though there are interconnecting characters. Books 1-3 are out now, with #4 on the way and I highly recommend them.

Never Let You Go: A Modern Fairytale by Katy Regnery

REVIEWED BY Micky Barnard

Never Let You Go: A Modern FairytaleNever Let You Go: A Modern Fairytale by Katy Regnery
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have so many feelings after reading this book and all of them amount to a fantastic 5 star read. It is no walk in the park, with some difficult subject matter and definitely more intense than 'the vixen and the vet' but honestly it was a gritty and emotional read. It is based loosely on the Hansel and Gretel fairytale but this is no fairytale you'd tell your children.

Gris has been in a foster family for some time when Holden arrives to be fostered also. Holden has a stammering problem and Gris defends him within the family. When on an errand for their foster mother, they are abducted by a man who is clearly something of a psychopath. Their tale of childhood is mostly narrated as memory or flashback and this is good as small chunks make it more easily digestible. Gris and Holden have been separated by a decade of hurt but their story is something quite amazing. Their characters have such depth and reality and as adults they are fascinating. Gris has never stopped searching for Holden, but Holden doesn't even go by his real name anymore. The odds are truly stacked against this pair and their story is lengthy but all the better for going the extra mile.

This series is shaping up to be a favourite of 2015.

REVIEWED BY Becky Cox

The Nympho Series Box SetThe Nympho Series Box Set by J.C. Black
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was gifted a copy for an honest review.

Book 1 was a bit frustrating to me because I felt like Chris just walked in a room and everyone wanted to sleep with him. It felt like it was written for a male audience. Megan and Amber among other girls were constantly fighting over Chris and the bickering got old real quick.

Book 2 settled a bit. Chris is making plans for his future to pursue a law degree. He is trying to back away from a few of the girls he has been involved in looking towards being away at school. The arguing slowed down and a back story started moving towards the front involving illegal trafficking and some mobsters making Chris do some things he got a thrill from but really didn't want to do.

Book 3 Chris begins to change and mature and falls in love. It doesn't stop him from cheating but he feels guilty about it. Then the author drops a big bombshell on you and the entire series takes on a whole new meaning. Nice twist Mr. Black.
