All the Frogs in Manhattan by Carrie Aarons
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I love the title and the cover!
Gemma is such a great character. She is sassy, mouthy and funny. She has an insecure side, that all of us women can relate. All the crappy dates we went/go on trying to find our Prince. Dealing with the crappy come-on's and sleezy lines. You know you have been there and how horrible it is. The sky high heels, the uncomfortable sexy clothing. So you meet the Prince but he can't be a prince because they all have something hideous they are hiding...right?! Still, we ladies have needs, just like the men do and sometimes we make decisions to get these needs met even if there are no emotions or relationships involved.
Oliver the nerdy but sexy and doesn't really own it guy. He knows he can't women. He satisfies his needs when he has the itch but he isn't looking for a relationship. He is focused on his career and the whole picket fence is not really on his horizon.
So, they make a deal. We all know those kinds of deals never work out. Someone always gets hurt.
I really enjoyed Gemma and Oliver's story. The pace of the book was great and the underlying characters were awesome as well. A well rounded entertaining story.
If you are looking for a lighthearted love story, here ya go. A well written fun story.
I won the ARC in a contest.
