Aww I loved this book. Newly released still hot out of the oven it was a breeze and a complete page turner.
Once you start this book you will not want to stop until you finish reading.
The summer before leaving to Harvard, Leila, a care free 18 year old girl wants nothing more but to spend her last vacation days surfing and her nights having fun. Her father however, is tired of her continuous partying and easy money spending, so he gives Leila an ultimatum in order for her to learn responsibilities before leaving to start her degree.
The opportunity comes in the form of his friend Phoenix, who Leila hasn’t seen for a few years. It was supposed to be an easy task just show up in Phoenix’s office and be his assistant but one look at him has her breathless, Phoenix is all man and gorgeous, suddenly this job doesn’t seem so bad...
Leila arriving late on her first day doesn’t make the best of impressions on Phoenix who’s a slacker for punctuality, he’s ready to let her know just how much it upsets her, the fact of her being here was supposed to be a temporary thing, a favor to a friend and a solution to have been left last minute by his last assistant, but when Phoenix sets his eyes on the beautiful Leila, all ideas of reprimand go out of the window replacing them with plenty thoughts of what he would like to do to her, or her mouth...
A fan or cold shower will be certainly needed whilst/after reading this book. Regardless of being a short story, it had a solid plot and good dialogues.
A great Debut book by this author and I am certainly panting for the next story!
